About us
Sterk Helse was established in 2009 and is run by Norwegian health workers. We coordinate health programs, treatment and rehabilitation in Hungary with follow-ups in Norway. Our interdisciplinary team of therapists gives high quality treatment in beautiful surroundings. We wish to offer stays which give new energy and inspiration by combining good treatment with wonderful experiences.
We have chosen to establish our company in Hungary because of the effective treatment offered here for musculoskeletal pain conditions. The treatment has very good long term results and is a unique foundation for rehabilitation. There is also a comfortable climate, a reasonable price level and a wonderful culture in Hungary.
Sterk Helse has its own clinics localized next to recognized therapy centers at the Margit Island in Budapest and by the lake in Heviz. These spas are among the best spas in Europe. Both places are situated by large parks and are great locations for recreation and regaining energy.
Our medical team consists of Norwegian and Hungarian health workers including a general practitioner, rheumatologists, specialists of internal medicine and physiotherapists. We have a holistic approach to rehabilitation of pain conditions. We are also involved in research and development of new health and rehabilitation programs.

» Manager: Jan Anders Borning MD
Dr. Borning received his education from the famous Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest. After finishing his education in 1999 he started working as a physician in Norway. He has been working in the medical fields of rheumatology, general practice and psychiatry. His interest and belief in the Hungarian spa traditions involving physiotherapy and healthy living have influenced him to introduce this for Norwegians.
He organized the first therapeutic holiday to Hungary for a group of 14 patients in 2004. His medical work is now focused on preventive medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Borning established the company Sterk Helse (Strong Health) in 2009 to promote the message of healthy living and to offer solutions for rehabilitation.

» Medical Consultant: Géza Bálint MD, FRCP (Glasgow) DSc.
Dr. Bálint is a retired Professor of Physiotherapy and is now working as a consultant in Rheumatology. He is the National Coordinator in Hungary of the Bone and Joint Decade 2000-2010. Dr. Bálint is assisting Sterk Helse in the development of high quality treatment programs and follow-up programs.

» Cultural Coordinator: Krisztina Csidei
After graduating from College of Commerce, Catering and Tourism in Budapest as economist in 1998, she started to work at Carlson Wagonlit Travel making hotel reservations for corporate partners in Hungary and abroad. At the end of the same year she went to Vista Travel Agencies where - as Inbound Sales Representative - she set up tours and programs for individuals and groups coming from abroad to Hungary, participated in tourist fairs and organized meetings for firms.
As the Inbound Sales Manager of BCD Travel Hungary since 2008 she has been responsible for meetings and incentives of the corporate clients and for the tourist groups travelling to Hungary. Vista has probably the best reputation among the Hungarian travel agencies. This is proven by the honourable title ’Best Travel Agency’ Vista has repeatedly been granted in recent years.
